SYRINGES

A syringe is a simple piston pump consisting of a plunger that fits tightly in a tube/barrel. The plunger can be pulled and pushed along inside a cylindrical tube/barrel, allowing the syringe to take in and expel a liquid through an orifice at the open end of the tube/barrel. The open end of the syringe can be fitted with a dispensing tip, blunt end needle, a nozzle, or tubing to help direct the flow into and out of the tube/barrel.

Although these syringes were originally manufactured for the medical market, for many years we have used them for the manual dispense application of liquids such as resins, inks, paints, glues, and lubricants.

Syringes can either be Luer Lock or non Luer Lock, however non Luer Lock are also referred to as Luer Slip.
The difference is that the Luer Lock syringe allows Lock fitting such as a blunt end needle to be twisted onto the Luer end of the syringe and then locked in place. This provides a secure connection and prevents accidental removal of the needle/tip/tubing whilst dispensing.
Luer Slip syringes allow a needle/tip tubing to be pushed on to the Luer end of the syringe , all our Luer Slip syringes accept needles in this way, but do not secure in the same way as a Luer Lock. see photo.
